Among the many topics discussed in my book, I touch on the subjects of finding the right nude models and locations for your intended projects. Take the image above done with my Hasselblad as a prime example.
This was shot as part of a series for a beauty fitness editorial in Italy, so first of all I needed a model with an athletic physique, but it was equally important to find a suitable location, so that it didn’t completely dominate the subject, but instead helped to create the desired feel for the whole set of images. 10 Ways To Improve Your Boudoir Photography is an e-book by Ed Verosky, who is the author of various e-book’s on photography covering subjects such as lighting, portraiture and boudoir photography.

Photographed above are a Mamiya 645 medium format camera withe a 31MP Leaf digital back and a Canon 1DsII with a 24-105L zoom. Both cameras have their pros and cons and I think it’s worth looking at what they both have to offer. Continue reading
Last week I found myself in touch with another photographer by the name of Ben Heys who is based in Australia and shoots quite a lot of nude photography. We starting talking about the business and during that conversation Ben told me about a site he has recently launched at artofimagery.com which includes a selection of his beautiful images. Sometimes I like to let people know about a piece of equipment or software I use and show how it fits in with my workflow. Very occasionally I’ll also mention a book or resource like a website that has good information and today I thought I’d tell you about an ebook on glamour photography called Guerrilla Glamour by a photographer I know called Jimmy D, who rides a Harley and believes that glamour photography should be no more difficult than is necessary to achieve the desired result.

No photographer can expect to make a worthwhile improvement in their photography unless they learn how to successfully edit and choose their best images from every shoot. It is not only essential for the images you’re dealing with at that moment in time, but also for future work and that is why I devoted an entire chapter in my book to the importance of editing. Canon 24-105L
For many years 99% of my professional photography was all done using a Hasselblad and I still think they are beautiful cameras.
There are various jobs though which can be done very well using a good 35mm DSLR and my current weapon of choice for those occasions is the Canon 1DsII. I know there is a new 5DII and even a 1DsIII, but the fact is that I am happy with what I have and don’t want to upgrade my camera just for the sake of it every time a new camera appears on the market. I have done some serious side by side testing and in practice the differences are just too small to warrant a change and quite often the 1DsII still comes out best. Continue reading

The topless glamour image above was done as part of job a couple years ago using my 1DsII and a Tamron 28-75 zoom. The photo was taken in a narrow hallway, so space was pretty tight. According to the Exif data for that image I still managed to work at 75mm though, which is a very reasonable focal length for glamour. Continue reading
While writing my book recently on nude photography, it became clear that I should really search out some internet models as part of the process. This is something I had never done before, but I wanted to pass on some qualified first hand experience about how it works and what is involved.
Having spoken to a few other photographers first, it seemed clear they had mixed experiences, so I faced this challenge of looking for some internet models with an equal measure of curiosity and trepidation… Continue reading
